Home birth, water birth, VBAC,

Welcome to Holistic Birthing Services.

My name is Deanna Norris. I am a Licensed Certified Professional Midwife. I have been preparing for this role my whole life.

My friend Leigh Steele says, “to be part of the sacred dance of birth is to bear witness to the unfolding of holiness.” I have to agree. As a mother of 3, I can attest to the holiness that is birth. Something sacred and primal happens to a person when they believe in their body and let nature take it's course. Being fully present in your birth is something that will change your life forever. The memories of your birth will stay with you, vivid until the last moment.

As a Licensed Certified Professional Midwife, and previously a birth doula, I believe in the power of mind, body, and soul aligning to create a perfect union. As your Midwife, I will help guide you on this path, so that you might have peace and harmony within yourself before stepping into parenthood. I will do my best to inform, guide, and protect your journey while encouraging you to self-educate, love, and embrace this time fully. I offer heart-centered prenatal care, taking your personal philosophies and goals and blending them with safe, holistic Midwifery care.

I hope to address physical, emotional, mental, and spiritual aspects of your prenatal and postpartum period, as well as your labor support desires. Offering Midwifery services, placenta encapsulation, lactation support, herbal tinctures, herbal support, and birth plan assistance for birthing families in the Oklahoma City and surrounding areas. Serving families in Edmond, OKC, Guthrie, Stillwater, Yukon, Norman, Central and Eastern Oklahoma desiring a home birth. Not currently taking clients wishing to utilize a birth center.

It is not only that we want to bring about an easy labor, without risking injury to the mother or the child; we must go further. We must understand that childbirth is fundamentally a spiritual, as well as a physical, achievement. . . The birth of a child is the ultimate perfection of human love.
