placenta encapsulation reminders


Before the birth

  • Pay the non-refundable $50 retainer fee via the invoice you’ll receive after filling out the intake form to confirm your spot on the calendar.

  • Store my number for communication: 405-630-0606.

  • Ask your designated birthing place about their placenta release policies and fill out all appropriate paperwork for release after the birth.

  • Have a hard-sided cooler to store placenta, if needed. (Just big enough for a 6 pack is ideal)


After the birth

  • Text or call Deanna between 8am and 8pm to announce the birth of your little one.

  • Arrangements for pickup will be made within 12-24 hours of contact.

  • Placenta pickup could be done by me, or someone on my team, within 20 miles of Edmond. Enjoy a $50 discount for dropping your placenta off to me.

  • People birthing outside of 20 miles from Edmond should have a drop-off plan in place.

  • Pay your balance. Processing will not begin until paid in full. Cash, Check, Card, Venmo (@Deanna-Norris), or Cash app ($holisticbirth) are all accepted.

  • Turn around times are not guaranteed. While we make every effort to get your capsules back to you within 48-72 hours of receipt of the placenta, processing times could take longer due to births, the number of placentas in line ahead of yours, illness, family emergencies, car trouble, supply delays, weather outages, etc. We will do our best to communicate any unforeseen delays with you.


After encapsulation

  • You will be contacted by me to arrange for receipt of your capsules.

  • Capsule drop off/pick up could be done by me or someone on my team, within 20 miles of Edmond.

  • New parents outside of 20 miles from Edmond should have a pick-up plan in place. Drop shipping is available at no additional charge to you.

  • Contact Deanna for any questions regarding your capsules, as needed.

important!

  • Placenta must be covered completely in ice, or stored in refrigerator until encapsulator receives it. If the ice is melted, or the placenta has not been stored properly, the placenta will not be processed.

  • Holistic Birthing Services is not “on-call” for placenta services. Do not contact us between 10pm and 8am for pickup.

  • Please be patient with turn around times.
